Although we naturally acquire the essential skills which allow us to walk and run at an early age we rarely do anything more in our adult lives to enhance or improve these skills and yet, like many other sports and hobbies we enjoy, running and walking are technique activities which can be improved through practise, like your golf swing, tennis game, swimming stroke or cycling.
When Chris Lewis decided to get fit in 2006, as a non-runner she felt she needed to know more about 'how to run' and discovered the ChiRunning® website. She read the book, watched the DVD and even bought the t-shirt - and was convinced that this was what she was looking for! After attending a workshop, she was really able to "feel what it feels like" to move with ease!
Chris has since studied bio-mechanics as part of a Sports Science degree course which reinforced the common sense and practicality that underpins the philosophy being promoted through these programmes. She decided she would like to share this knowledge with others who want to keep moving efficiently and without the stresses and injuries that so many seem to accept as 'normal'!
Now, as a fully qualified ChiRunning® and ChiWalking® Instructor, and Level 2 England Athletics Coach (Endurance), Chris has set up Chi-Mobile and offers workshops and tailored individual sessions designed to help people of all abilities to learn how to move with ease that offers pain and injury free running and walking!
